1940s Claude Butler Road Frame
Built from Reynolds 531 double-butted tubing with bi-laminated, gold-lined fancy lugs and long-point Anglo Continental rear dropouts. The fork blades are round with a lamp boss fitting, while the fork crown has an ornate design.
Fittings brazed to the frame include two top tube cable guides, a single gear cable guide and cable eyes for the front and rear gear mechanisms, a down-tube gear lever pip, two pump pegs, two top-tube cable guides and a chain-stay cable guide.
The frame has clearances for 27" wheels. The head tube has been drilled for a head badge. The frameset was restored over 10 years ago by Skill’s of Ilkeston.
Size: Seat tube is 23.5" from the centre of the bottom bracket to the top of the seat tube, the top-tube measures 23” from the centre of the seat tube to the centre of the head tube.
