Genuine Munich Six-Day Jersey, Team 15

The Munich Six-Day was one of the biggest, best and hardest of the winter season. It was also one of the oldest, dating back to 1933. There was a break for the Second World War, then the race lost its home when the old indoor velodrome was demolished in 1955.

The race returned in 1972, and from then until the last Munich Six-Day in 2009, it was held on a temporary track in the Olympia Halle, a general purpose sports arena built for the 1972 Olympic Games.

There was been one British winner; Tony Doyle in 1988 and 1990, and one set of father and son winners; Graeme Gilmore in 1974 and Mathew Gilmore in 2004.

This jersey for team 15 was sponsored by Haberl Gastronomie, a Munich-based restaurant and beer garden chain. The jersey is unworn, early 2000s era, part of a batch made to be used if required by team 15. A perfect collector’s piece or memento for a six-day race fan.
